I am considering this vehicle for a daily driver and tow vehicle. Does anyone have any mpg figures for towing and daily driving? Thanks

I have a 2006 3500 SRW with the auto tranny and I get 18 mpg going back and forth to work. I hand calculate the mileage every time I fill up. Highway driving I get 18-21 mpg depending on type of road and I don't go over the speed limit. Pulling the 5er I'll get 11-13 mpg again depending on the type of road. I hope this helps.

Pretty much have same figures as 'arkie-camper' above
Go very light on pedal and keep RPMs below 1700 in city and you can get 15-16
Go higher or heavier on pedal in city and you'll drop to 13-14 in a heartbeat
Open road empty is around 19-21 depending on speed
Towing I average 12-12.5 over the 2200 miles from OH-AZ

My 2500 2005 5.9s best was 18ish no matter how easy I was. Then it was a 4X4 auto. Wouldn't have gotten 20ish down a mine shaft. JMHO

A 3500 mega cab what ?? 4x4 ? DRW ? Auto vs manual ? City vs highway commute ?
Some folks have a aux fuel tank or a big heavy brush buster front bumper with a winch or big tires or other heavy options vs a standard cab 2wd 2500 truck.
You will find many 3500 DRW owners with the above optioned trucks don't get the better mpg as say the 2500 truck in my sig.
Note those differences of those that give their mpg figures and hope its a average and not just a single best tank or the overhead 'puter figure.

2003 2500 Quad cab 4x4 Cummins Ram I had could get 20 mpg highway empty all day long. But, it was the lower output SO cummins.

Highway driving is about 20 - 21 mi/gal. Towing 11,000 lbs 5th wheel on average over last 30,000 miles very close to 13 mi/gal. I drive speed limit. Numbers are hand calculated, as computer is waay off. Galons are US. Also, my truck is 4x2.
It is a pleasure to drive this truck, loaded or empty.

I have that exact truck in a 2007 version, only difference being the fender badges. Note mine is an 07, but has the 5.9L engine.
I get 18-22 mpg empty hwy, and 10-12 towing the RV in my sig which is a total load of about 20,000# truck and trailer. Commuting everyday the truck gets 15-19 mpg - my commute is about 50/50 city/hwy. 15 mpg is when in cold weather (winter diesel fuel and some idling) and 19 mpg is summer commuting using summer diesel.
I have gotten up to 25 mpg empty highway under ideal conditions (no wind, cool temps, going 60mph, not using A/C and no big hills).
I use my truck as a daily driver and really enjoy every minute of it.
On edit:
For clarity, these mpg figures are hand calculated (every tank) and include the Hypertech programming (which had no effect on fuel economy BTW) and is with the fiberglass topper installed as seen in my sig pic.

My 2003.5 with 6 speed and HO engine gets around 18 back and forth to work, a solid 21 empty on the highway and when I did tow a big fiver 10-13 depending on speed, headwind and grade.
