Anyone travel this route lately? Hwys 318 and/or 93? Looking to pass this way in Jan/Feb. coming from Utah. 36-foot 5er. Place to load fresh water, boondock overnight. On our way to Arizona. Thanks folks!

Either SR-318 or US-93 will be OK, although SR-318 is at a lower elevation and will cut some miles off the US-93 route.

Hwys 318 from Ely to Ash Springs and 93 on to Las Vegas is the route we prefer. There is a rv park behind the Shell Station in Ash Springs with FH.

I drove 318 two weeks ago and it was fine. 93 has a lot more curves and hills and is about an hour longer. We stayed at the rest area in Sunnyside, but there are other places closer to Vegas. Watch for aircraft activity to the West in the Test Site area.

Been in whiteout blizzard conditions just below Ely, and between Wells and Ely in January. In an RV I'd be watching the weather forecasts and be prepared to lay up if needed. Also have the RV prepared for the temperature to get well below freezing.
