I just got a trailer to live in to save money while going to school. I will be needing to get high speed internet for my trailer and did not know where to start. I will be taking online classes so I dont want a limit on the usage. I will not deal with wifi spots I just want my own internet signal. I will also be hooking up my xbox 360 to the internet because I also love my games. So the connection needs to be fast. Can anyone please help I am tired of reading were the best, but only at this speed or time.

You should ask the mod to move this to technology.

As far as I know any wireless (air card/sat) solution will have a monthly limit, but could be wrong.

If you are going to be living in it and staying in one place your best solution for high speed unlimited use would be cable or DSL. If that is not possible then maybe Verizon Air Card with the 5 Gb plan, but you would need to find out if Verizon Rev A service is available there.

If you have a phone line then DSL or if you have cable tv get fast access from them.

Verison has a limit to their "unlimited internet" so not a great option. AT&Ts unlimited internet is unlimited. They're BOTH way overpriced though ($60.00 a month). If you're staying put have a phone installed and go with DSL for about $15.00 a month.

I have a wireless router that takes a Verizon air card unlimited time and we use it all the time, its great that the wife and kids can be on at the same time (with just a little lag with 4 folks on). The air card plugs right into the router, we also use it at the campground and when going down the road so the kids can be on at the same time. If I want it just for me I can take it out of the router and put it in the laptop.

Maybe for some people but the DW and I are both heavy computer users and have never exceeded the 5 GByte limit. Verizon's coverage is much better than AT&T's. We have used it for the past two years all over the western half of the country and have found only two (out of several dozen) where service was not available.

If you are going to be in one place, investigate locally available connections, usually more bandwidth is available at a lower price, compared to broadband wireless from one of the phone companies.

Best bargains are usually digital cable from the cable TV provider, DSL if you can get a phone line, locally-beamed microwave, and locally-beamed satellite (WildBlue). Costs depend on data rate you purchase, but some providers are moving toward charging by data volume.

Cable is usually fastest at the lowest cost, DSL can be cheaper (under $20 at base rates) but cost goes up with bandwidth (almost no upper limit if you can pay enough), movable satellite and broadband mobile wireless have slower "fastest" speeds and usually more expensive for a given speed.

Direct beamed microwave is usually a local business, set up in areas not wired for cable and too far away from the telephone office to get DSL.

Just what is available from who will depend exactly where you are. I.E. Verizon is often the fastest broadband mobile, but they offer no service at all where I live, must choose between AT&T and Sprint. I don't get Comcast, or Time-Warner, have to use my own cable company.

I suggest you look at highspeed.com to see if any of the listed providers do business where you need them.

You are supposed to be studying to get an education...not playing games on the xbox.

If you will stay at one location, a DSL phone line or cable connection is by far your best choice. We use the cellular air card as we travel and we really love it but it would not do well for a serious gamer because of the 5 gig limit that comes with the service.

If you plan to move about and must have a connection that is portable, about all that will work for you will be one of the two satellite internet services and the equipment is somewhat costly and the weather can slow your connection. Even those are not totally unlimited as DSL or cable would be.
