7.5 mpg average over the last 25,000 miles, running speed limits up to 65-70, depending on winds; headwinds I find the speed it can run in OD, which might be as low as 55 in an 20 mph headwind.

Sometimes towing, sometimes not, includes about 8,000 miles of mountain driving, running whatever speed it will maintain on 6% to 8% grades, and engine braking all the way down.

Mine gets 10 MPG on the button. 25' and I drive around 60 and don't tow anything.

we have a 2007 E450 chassis which we purchased new we got s little over 8 mpg until ethenol came along now we get a little less than 8 mpg towing a small car at 60 to 65 mph. fred

We have a 2000 29 ft Winnebego Minnie V10 F450 with 32000 miles. Synth oil and a new air filter every season. (seems there is a new hornets nest in the air intake every spring, but that is a topic for a whole new post) Drive 60 to 62 mph maximum and use cruise control as much as possible. Travel heavy all the time (lots of kids) Any day I get over 8 mpg I`m buying the first round.

Ours is a 2000 Coachmen 28.5 foot Class C on a E450 chassis. About 11,800 pounds whem loaded out for a long trip. No toad. 62,000 miles on the odometer. This summer on our 9500 mile Alaska trip we averaged 9.45 MPG for the whole trip. 1004 gallons of fuel. Usual speed (when allowed) was 55-60 MPH and used cruise control very sparingly, and only where the highway was flat. The Ford E450 of this vintage downshifts way too soon on a small hill. With all the torque that engine has at the RPMs at 60 MPH there isn't any need to down shift so soon.

We have a 2007 30.5' Sunseeker. The chassis is almost maxed on weight. We get ~8 mpg without the toad and ~7 mpg towing a 3400lb Jeep. I generally try to stay below 60 mph and never exceed 65 mph. We see about 1/2 mpg difference between normal terrain and driving in the mountains. There have been lots of posts on E450 mileage and while some are able to get 1 or 2 mpg better, 7 to 8 mpg seems to be the norm for many of us.

We have a 2008 3100 Sunseeker. We get 8.5 mpg without the toad and 8 mpg towing a 3750lb small pickup. I stay below 60 mph and never exceed 65 mph. I have been wondering if maybe I used a higher grade fuel if the milage would improve any or enough to warrent the higher price. Has anyone tried a higher or premium grade gas and gotten better results?

I wonder if there is any correlation between the type of C and the mileage. Do C's with nicely faired (no overcab bunk) get better mileage than C's with an overcab bunk? There has to be some effect from the better aerodynamics, but it might not be enough to make a difference. Any thoughts?

Hi mavapa,

Mine has a bunk over the cab--so far my mileage seems to be the best at 11 mpg (US). My average since new to me is 8.91 and rose once I passed 20,000 kilometers. BUT I drive only 55 mph and only with the cruise control on.
