My over hang sleeping area seems to move up and down while driving which causes miner leaks which I take care of problem as soon as I see them does any company make support brackets which mount to fenders and reach up to mount to under belly of sleeper area? Or did you do anything on yours to slove the movement or do I take a a pen and paper and start from scratch and build. Now to clear what i'm saying it's not moveing a great deal but I don't what it to move at all.I'm thinking there is a great deal of strain just hanging out in front sooner or latter there will be a problem, Is my mind just in over drive? I keep thing murfee's Law what can go wrong will go wrong.

I've seen supports like you describe in pictures on the truck camper forum here at rv.net. Perhaps you can find a picture there and contact the owner/member?

If Fleetwood built according to Ford's guidelines, the whole house should be sitting on the factory-provided rubber mounts, and will move slightly relative to the cab. The overhang should move too, it is supported from the house.

If the overhang is flexing relative to the house, the internal structure may be damaged, possibly by water if this is a vintage of Jamboree that still used wood framing in the overhead.

You didn't say where it is leaking. If it is the joint between the cab and the overhead, the gasket may need replacing and the fasteners replaced and reinforced.

It the leaks are in the joints of the overhead, you need to look at the condition of its structure. If the overhead is flexing relative to the rest of the house, fastening it more firmly to the cab might make your problem worse.

I was having a similar problem with my previous unit, it had a rubber roof. I'd get a leak in the cabover bunk area, along the seam where the rubber roof met the cap. I'd get up on the roof, re-caulk that seam and that would fix the problem for a little while then start up again. Turns out, I was using the wrong caulk. I just needed to use the right caulking one time, and the leaks were resolved. I believe they called it self-leveling caulk or something like that.

I don't know if this is similar to your problem, but I developed a nasty squeak between the overhang and cab on my Itasca Cambria. It is definitely coming from the rubber between the two. I have an appointment with service tomorrow to, according to the service guy, tighten down the brackets between the cab and overhang.

Maybe my problem is related to yours??

I have a 2004 Jamboree and had a problem with the seal between the cab and overhang. Wind was coming through while driving down the road. Took the lower part of the overhang apart and discovered that all but a few of the rivets that hold the two together had either broken or pulled through! Re-assembled with heavier rivets and so far so good. That was almost two years ago. It appeared that when they built the unit they very quickly shot the rivets in and never checked to see if they actually held anything. Might check this out before you get too involved.

Hope this helps.

There are struts made for truck campers that go from the overhang down to the fender which may do what you want.

Just wanted to let eveyone know I found locking bars for locking sliding Glass Doors they are white square tubing and adjustable which will mount onto side of fender adjust to top of over hang and it comes with a clamp to hold it into place the only problem they only have 1 they told me they will have some more sometimes this week. Took out DW showed her what I was doing and what she thinks she tells me gee If you didn't tell any one it wasn't a camper part they would know. You just never know what you can find at Lowe's with a little Imagination.
