The Honda maintains our 4 house batteries which we use for TVs, coffee pot, etc. No hastle setting up and quiet. Used the big jenny maybe 5 times.
Dave: Do you charge directly off the genset itself...OR...do you run a separate battery charger plugged into the genset??

Thank you all for your information, I have gotten some good ideas from them. The pictures were super, I see lots of getting up on the roof to raise and lower the panels, not much in favor of that but guess it is the only way, short of motorized panels huh?
You don't really HAVE to tilt the panels but they work better. If you don't want to deal with the tilt, then you might want to go with a little extra wattage to make for it.

Yes, thru the shore cable. We set the Inverter/Charger to10amps and use the remaining 10amps for tvs, etc.

I like the Honda EU 1000i over the 2000 because all I want it to do is charge batteries (4-6v w/2500w inverter). It will power a 45a converter and is only 29 pounds and small. If we want to use the microwave we fire up the noisy Onan 6500.
