My wife used some of those refrigerator travel rods and a piece of shelf lining to cover the skylight. Works pretty good to help keep heat out.

I to painted mine. Used a dark brown spray paint for plastic. Wish I'd done it years ago.

You can also use bubble wrap. The small bubble wrap works best. Unscrew under the sky light and lay this up there and put underneath back in. Easy.
We put two layers in a previous 5th wheel. Kept the heat out.

I have a question about putting foam in the shower skylight. We used a piece of two inch thick pink insulation. Worked great until we started to have a leak in the shower from condensation between the two pieces of the skylight. We didn't have any until I put the foam in. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I really like how it kept the heat out, but not all the condensation. I like the idea of the shade, but ours is not square it is a very odd shape.

I bought a skylight shade made by Carefree of Colorado to cover our skylight. It works and looks great!

Our DSDP's have both come with a shade already in the skylights. It looks like a day/night shade but is only the "night" portion so it does a pretty good job of blocking most of the light

FWIW, we put the foam in when we are sleeping.
Other than that the skylight open.
We havent had any problem with condensation on ours.

About $50, including shipping. It is a well made part.
