We did some with Boyce Thompson Arboretum, which is listed as a state park but they are owned and mostly operated by a foundation. Not sure that our experience would tell you much.

We did visit with the volunteer coordinator from Lost Dutchman park which has hosts and they seemed to be pretty good to work for. We also drove through the park and we saw one or two very nice host sites but there were also two which we nearly touching the public restrooms, but behind them. We would not accept either of those locations to stay.

Good travelin! ........Kirk

Hello Jackha1949,

It is good to get input from those who have done so before you. But keep an eye oon the news in Arizona. With the current economy, and our current legislatures failure to have a budget in place for this fiscal year, the State Parks department is looking at the possibility of closing "All" of our Parks.
