Don't forget lots of free rocks in the surrounding area.
We stayed one night about ten years ago and I vowed to never stay there again. Too dusty and dirty.
Also I heard through the grapevine that there were 200+ portable generators stolen last season. One guy I talked to had been to Quartzsite and this TV went off during the late evening and he decided his Honda Generator had run out of fuel. They went to bed and the next morning he found out why the TV had gone off, the generator was gone.

This has to be the most accurate description of Quartzsite I've seen, especially La Mesa going out of business every year.
And the other two selling their left over inventory...only it is the left over RVs that the wholesalers wouldn't buy, not just the usual left overs. If you're thinking of buying an RV here, it is buyer beware X1000. We're already here and watching the show expand daily.

Local ATVs are licensed for the road there, and are everywhere. But out of staters cannot buy any kind of a license or permit to operate on the roads there, so sneakin around the cops becomes a game.
Not quite true, as AZ changed their laws on ATVs last year. If your ATV is licensed for the road in your home state and your state has reciprocity with AZ, then it is legal for you to ride on the street. Most winter people here, ride ATVs that are not licensed or registered anywhere, and that is illegal and what the Police are looking for.

Quote: If you like crowds, dirt and cold (in January), you'll love it!
One never knows what the weather will be like, last year it was somewhat warm, in fact my heater didn't even come on a couple of nights.
The last couple of years the crowds have been manageable, and a little dirt never hurt anyone.
