Where would one find the house battery in a 2001 jamboree 26F? Any issues with adding a second battery in parallel?
Also, the converter looks like one of those old, horrible battery-boiling converters (RV electrical system Model 80). Any issues with replacing it with a modern 3-stage converter?
I have a 2005 Fleetwood. The house battery is located under the middle step into the MH. My step has a couple of screw heads that you can open with a quarter. Its not a very roomy space. Mine has a single 12V. Don't know about the converter.
Some Ford based class C have space under the hood, with the drivers side one battery, and the other on the passenger side. Depending on the year (yes I know you posted 2001) they put the starting battery on the passenger side, and some years on the other.
If you have a GM, start looking around. Look under the RV and you will probably see the batteries someplace, and they are vented to the space under the RV.
Some manufactures put a pair of batteries in so they use the same large compartment for both GM and Ford based class C.
It's under the step (I've got a 2000 26F) Look at that top step and you'll see some way to remove it (mine has a little latch and it just lifts off - that's what I've seen in most fleetwoods of that era that I've looked at)
There's plenty of room for 2, my MH came with 2 12v's. I've replaced with 2 6v GC batteries.
Yes, replace the converter with a good modern converter. If you know how to wire stuff, it's not hard. My converter is seperate from my fuse panel, so mine was easy to change out.
