Ok, put my truck and trailer on the scales this weekend and here is what i got...
steer axle 4600 lbs
drive axle 5720 lbs
trailer axle 8000 lbs.
gross weight 18120 lbs
I have an f250 4x4 7.3 with a 45 gal fuel tank in the bed, 2-200 lbs scooters and some firewood...
my question is, what is the rough guess weight on my trailer.

Unladin rear axle for your F250 4x4 is approx 2900 lbs. Plus 400 for the scooters = 3300 lbs. Plus 45 gal of fuel that doesn'r sit over the rear axles so maybe 250 lbs of it on the rear axle = 3550 lbs.
3550 from 5720 is 2170 lbs for a hitch weight. Add that to your trailer axle gross = 10170 Lbs gross for a guess.
Or, your F250 may weigh 7650 lbs with all the extras you mention. 7650 lbs minus 18120 lb gross = 10470 lbs for another guess as your trucks actual weight is a unknown.
Some where in the 10100 lb to 10400 lb range.

You are at 10,320. Throw your numbers in this. Sailbad is probably prtty close. If you divide 8000 by .88 (12% tongue wieght) it puts you at 9100#. It has nothing to do with your truck weights.

I'd say Sailbad is in the ball park but it looks like you missed a real opportunity to find out EXACTLY what it weighed, while you had it on the scales.

Truck probly weighs about 7500 lbs without the trailer so 18K -7500 = 10500 for the trailer, or somewhere thereabouts.

That is about what I figured on weight, just wanted other opinions. I would love to have unhitched the trailer and weighed it by itself, but it was a busy truck stop and those truckers dont have much patience for us with our campers. They always give me a dirty look when I roll into the big truck pumps to fill my main and aux tanks.
Thanks guys!

Yeah, those truckers trying to make schedule and money and were out on a lark. LOL. I do both. Just clear the pump ramp when you hang the pump up. Then pay/and get your pop/coffee/sam'inch/etc. Even a few truckers are rude at times and sit on the pumps till they do their inside duty especially if a RVers or LTL hauler is behind them.
You may want to check a local feed store/grain elevator/dump/etc that has a set of scales. Generally their not busy.
The small town near me has a feed mill and platform scales. The scales are open 24/7. Just pull up on the scales and walk over to the stores front window for the LED readout of what ever your weighing. No charge and no rush.
If the trucks rear unladin axle weight is known its not necessary to go to the trouble of unhooking on the scales to weigh the trailer.

Rubio,
There is a Loves (IIRC) just outside of Katy and a Flying J in Brookshire: both have scales which never seem to be busy and are always open. Might be worth looking into for weighing just the truck, just the trailer, etc.
