I'm not a hunter, but I'd rather the hunters would thin the herds and use the meat. This country is massively overpopulated with deer that cause millions in auto damage and crop damage and then wind up starving to death in the winter.

How come on those hunting shows on ESPN and Versus the guys keep whispering AFTER the animal is shot and dead?

If you mean when they are still in the tree and talking about what just happened, maybe just in case there are other deer in the area and they don't want to spook them..... Just a guess.
