Quote: He's probably confusing Quartzsite with the Slabs which IS in California.
BIG difference!!! I love how people can bash a place they have never been to.

Thank god it's NOT everyone's cuppa tea! It's only 2400 miles one way from our house and we leave in a month. We'll see y'all around January 15th!
Can't wait!

there is EVDO service in Quartzsite for both Verizon and Sprint, so air cards work great
I had SPRINT last Jan no service on phone or air card, switched to verizon this year because the friends we were with had it and it worked great where ever we went in the southwest, Sprint did`nt.

I don't know when you were there, or what service you use, but there is EVDO service in Quartzsite for both Verizon and Sprint, so air cards work great...don't know about the other cell services. Cell phone signal strength for both Verizon and Sprint are also strong here.
Although we have satellite TV, we have been able to pull in OTA stations from both Phoenix and Yuma

There are RV parks in Q that provide all those things.
We were there in 05. We had Sprint-Nextel at the time which was admittedly provides poor cell service almost everywhere.
All the RV Parks were full or didn't have room for our rig when we were there.

I am here now and have t mobile cell 5 x 5 and am on the comp with verizon and
it also is 5 x 5. This being my first time I am enjoying the peace and quiet
from the other places we travell. Only a little road noise from I10, a little
wind, a little dust but I am not from a place that is dust free. Or is there
such a place, hmm? Hope to see the rest of you through out the season.
Safe travels everyone.

I didn't say Quartzsite was in CA. I Said "it's a CALIFORNIA thing. BTW, Quartzsite is 19 miles from the CA line and about 125 miles from Palm Springs.

You still have me confused...how can it be a "California" thing when Quartzsite is in "Arizona?"

And a large number of "visitors" are snow birds.
