Wondering if anyone is going to buy a new one this year or just did buy one? If you did, how was the process with the market the way it is? Anyone trading one in and how did that go?

Finally, anyone going for a new Monaco or HR from the new Monaco?

We picked up a new one yesterday. I wouldn't say that the process was any different other than the numbers shifting to current market conditions. We did get a credit card for $1250 in diesel from the chassis manufacturer. That was the only unexpected thing.

A recent post titled Monaco "New Frontier" Rally at Beaudry RV discussed Monaco selling pre-manufactured units at 50% off of wholesale without warranties. Of course, the new Monaco can't make and sell products at a loss, so one could assume things should go back to the usual 25 or 30% off of MSRP. Heaven help us if they ever decide to price things at the actual selling price.

We bought our 2009 HR Admiral last fall, for us the timing was really good at the time. We shopped for several months and were planning on waiting for this year but then we got the deal we wanted.

I was offered about a $1000 more for my 5th wheel trade in than I had expected but I knew that the price for the mh was still too high, so I walked away. I went back about two weeks later and made an offer which was accepted. The dealer didn't want to keep the coach all winter and the US/Canadian dollar exchange rate was at par.

Not related to the deal, but we camped 63 nights with it this past season and everything performed as advertised.

One thing about prices that still surprises me is that even in a dead economy, dealer pricing hasn't really dropped. There has not been any huge discounts because of the recession, at least not around us inthe Montreal area. You may see some 'specials' at a couple $$K off but really no more than that.

Class A were a bargain from last fall until early summer this year with discounts well above 30% available. While traveling over 20,000 miles this year we have seen the inventories of Class As diminish significantly as manufacturers were either shut down or reduced output. The result is now prices are, for the most part, back to normal.

We purchased an 08 Adventurer Limited 37' the end of June. This was a new 08 that was a leftover. They had discounted it substantially so there wasn't any dickering on that end but I did dicker on the trade in. I financed through USAA, as I'm retired military which was a breeze. La Mesa RV has done a great job on warranty issues and we are overly pleased with the coach and the process.

Bought our '09 Sightseer in April. Though an '09 it had been on the lot for some time. I think the build date was May or June of '08 and it's an '08 F53 chassis.

We traded our '96 Bounder. Demand at our local dealer for used class A's has been high, so they weren't reluctant to take it and it sold within a few months at a profit even if they got a chunk less than their asking price.

I'm not sure how the market is now. I don't see many class A's listed now at the same dealer and they have had the same "new" '08 Newmar Kountry Star on the lot all this year. I'd say they aren't moving class A's now like they were.

We purchased a new 08 Fleetwood Discovery last month. A nice discount off the sticker plus an exceptional trade amount for pickup.

From all that I've seen any new 08 or 09 on a lot now will be discounted well as 10's are on their way.

We are very happy with the deal and the Discovery.
