I am not certain what is going on with my Qwest "service" and MSN but I was told to contact my computer manufacturer (Dell, forget it) with this problem:
The MSN browser refuses to load my.msn.com completely; I had used this as a homepage. The top bar loads/loaded (email, etc.,) but the bottom part with my choices--like temperatures--stays blank.
So, I changed the homepage to MSNBC; it loads completely.
The browser will not "back off" some sites?????
As I wrote above my phone call to Qwest tech help was NO help.
Can any of you explain my problem to me? What can I do to remedy the problem. Keep in mind that I am 70-years-old and not computer savvy

Lots of questions:
Which Browser are you using - Explorer, Firefox, etc? MSN is not a browser
What version of the browser?
Have you upgraded or changed browsers recently?
Did this problem just start and everything worked OK before?
By Backing Off I assume you mean going back a page when you hit the back arrow button? Sometimes this doesn't work because the page you are on doesn't allow it or has bad programming. RV.NET was doing it for a while when empty Google Ads would load.

Hi, I do not know how to find details about the browser I click on the butterfly icon on my screen. I hardly every use Internet Explorer icon; however it holds its homepage--google.
I haven't changed anything for a few months and everything was working. Apparently I had a virus but StopSign cured it??? That was about a week ago; since then I have gotten a few up-dates.
At the top of the screen, you should have some menus, such as, File, Edit, etc. One of them, probably the right-most, will be Help. Open the Help menu. You will see the bottom choice to be similar to "About Internet Explorere" or whatever browser you are using. Select that choice from the Help menu and a window will open. Among other things, that window will contain the version number.
It sounds like maybe the my.msn.com site may have lost a few of your settings and thus will not load completely. You might try just going to msn.com, click on the link for My Msn, then login if necessary. May or may not be the problem.
When you or in a site and hit the Back arrow to go back a page and it doesn't, click on the little down arrow between the forward button and the address bar. You should see a list of the pages you have loaded. Click on the one you want to go back to and it should load. This is also useful when you have surfed through several different pages and want to go back to maybe the 5th or 6th page back without going to each one in between.
Thank you for the help. I'll try the link for My Msn. It is interesting if I use the list as you said in paragraph two, and go to my.msn.com it loads completely???
I haven't used Internet Explorer for ages but I seem to remember that if I deleted the temporary internet files and cache that it worked better. It's easy to do, try that and see what happens.

Once you do that and get to your My MSN page, make it your home page again by clicking on Tools (in the menu bar), then Internet Options, then Use Current at the top of the General tab. Maybe this resetting of the Home page will fix it.
Good a.m., Thank you, yes, I think it is ok now. Friday the 13th started pretty good here BUT about a half hour ago my screw driver slipped and I put it through my left hand. Ouch. The Christ must have really suffered; I can imagine hands and feet and hanging....no thanks.
