We had the same thing happen to us at a dealership in Elkhart - our insurance paid us but said they would go after the shop's insurer to get reimbursement.
Good luck to you.

We had to have service on our tt and my husband decided to remove the tv before we even took it in. They told us the tt would be in a garage the whole time but unless you are there you don't know that for a fact. Sorry to hear about your tv. What a bummer. I would ask the rv place to get you a new one as well. Hope everything works out for you.

Yep, many of ads are already available online at Black Friday.net. Best Buy's and Office Depot's just came out last night.

I am sorry some JERK broke into and stole from your RV. That always makes me angry. I appreciate the fact that you are not blaming the dealership for the theft, because unless they did something very irresponsible, it isn't their fault. It is one of those "dag nab it" things that happen. Go get a BETTER TV and enjoy your travels!

Well, First. if your dealer was like mine, if you pull the owner's manuals out of the bag they will have recorded the television serial number for you... If they did not.. Then when you get the new TV to install... RECORD IT.
I can not begin to tell you how much easier it is for the police to recover a TV if the serial number is recorded.. Also, get an engraver to write your driver's lisense number on the set like this ST/D123 456 789 012 (Where ST is your two letter state code and the rest of it is your DL number.. that is the michigan format, though not a valid DL number)
Now: If you have been putting off upgrading to digital TV... Good excuse!

This is another case of "some other dude" should pay. We all have the right to buy insurance...or not. The same could have happened in your driveway, at Walmart, in storage, or any one of dozens of other places. Unless the dealer was negligent in some way, call your insurance. Not hiring an armed guard to watch your individual unit is not negligence.

The trailer was in just the right spot and the cameras in the lot were not able to get a shot of the door area. The dealership has security fencing around the perimeter. The door handle lock was secured, but the deadbolt was not locked. I found out about that little hint a bit too late. Also, never thought about taking out the TV before taking the trailer to the dealer (or storage for that matter). Now I know. I am just grateful there was no damage to the trailer. DH is surprised I am not upset about this. I am more resigned to the fact that it happened. Could have happened anywhere I suppose. Chaulk it up to experience.
Our deductible is more than a replacement TV, so homeowners won't cover it. I priced replacements online and the prices are not worth filing a claim.
We have the name of the office manager at the dealership. I am going to let DH handle getting reimbursed for replacing the TV. We'll see what happens.
In the meantime, I get to take the trailer out for Thanksgiving week. No work, no responsibilites. Just hanging out with Corkie the WonderBeagle. It will be good.

Just because Ohio doesn't have them does not give you the right to tell him that.
