Hi, I am trying to identify and understand my camera.
I have a 2009 Holiday Rambler Atlantis Class C motorhome.
It came equipped with a rear vu camera (but no documentation).
The monitor is like a standard rear vu mirror, with the camera image displaying in B/W on half the mirror.
The camera is a small white round camera mounted on a bracket that can swivel up/down, placed between the top clearance lights. There is a tag on the camera that reads IR-VDF3103.
The camera has the center eye and a circular pattern of tiny lights (or I think they are lights.
This unit is always on, at night when I put the vehicle in reverse with the lights on those tiny lights or whatever they are, don't lite up.
when a camera has that design, is it supposed to be night vision also, does anyone else have a camera like this one (IR-VDF3103).

I appreciate the help.
Thank You

GOOGLE the camera manufacturer. Their website most likely has manuals listed.

A lot of times those will be infrared leds, and you won't be able to see them, but the camera will.

I googled the number I found on the camera (IR-VDF3103) and came up with nothing.

The Camera is color. However If the Monitor is B&W that's what You will get!

Even a Color Camera/Monitor Combination may only show a B&W Picture at night.

We have found that They don't work very well as a rear view Mirror at Night, however do work when backing into a Dark campsite. You still need to get out and scope the situation before just backing up, having a Helper to guide You is also very Important.

And from that website:
Quote:

The built-in infrared LEDs turn on automatically when the light condition turns weak (when illumination is under 10 LUX).

As I suggested. You cannot see infrared leds.
