Retirement is different for everyone but what is retirement?
For us trying to maintain 100 grape vines, a 56X36 garden, over 30 fruit trees, two stick homes (one for sale) , grandkids to keep up with, all the unplanned things that crop up to steal your time, maintaining a MH and trying to find time to go camping has turned out to be a full time job with no pay.
Also the following statements are TRUE;
How did I ever have time to hold down a real paying job?
The older I get the faster time goes by!
I’m not saying I don’t like retirement I’m just wondering how others find time to retire and how do you know when you get there?

Its called procrastination...put off until tomorrow what you could do today...go fishing instead. Take time to smell the roses man...your retired. Get the bucket list out and start doing it...let the kids take over the house, farm, garden etc and leave the world behind and travel...you only got a few years left. My dad and mom retired at 70 bought a big class A motor home back in 1977. Took off on their first trip to Penn. Got there...set up, went to bed. Mom woke up to find dad dead in bed...never enjoyed his retirement. Whats stopping you?
Retirement is not working for others, and still having enough money to do whatever you want. You make the decision as to what you do, within your retirement income restrictions. The family may want you to help out, so if you can, you do. You may like gardening, so you do. You choose, not being told by others. It's the end of the daily grind, the 9 to 5, the alarm clocks, the traffic jams, the office politics, time for new experiences, new beginings, return to childhood, or become a leader and show the youngin's how to live, anything you want to do including nothing, if that's what you fell like.
Retirement is nothing more than going to work for yourself, doing the things that you used to do after work and on your days off, plus a whole lot more. Like working on your coach while traveling and also when at home, along with other toys. I'm a full time maintenance and construction man around here with plenty going on. Those who say different either don't want to do it, hate learning new things or can't see the trees for the forest and like others have said....I really don't know how I had time for a job outside the home before.

Every retired person that I know says the same thing, "How did I find the time to do all these things while I was working?'.
Retirement to me is like every day is a Saturday, DW has a little different view, to her every day is a Sunday.

Retirement is being able to do what you want; When you want; How you want; and being able to take as much or as little time doing "it" as you wish!
Anything more than "that" are tasks that you have taken upon yourself.....or...are tasks put upon you by another that you didnt tell that person to put it where the sun dont shine!
You have paid your debt to society; worked a career and paid your taxes; etc, etc......now its time for YOU

Sounds to me like you are retired the way you want to be. The beauty of it, is that you can change your habitual schedule to suit yourself. As long as you enjoy what you're doing, do it and relish the days ahead, enjoy the wine from "your grapes", and be that special husband, father, and grandfather that your family loves.

I just retired in aug of this year. I have been catching up with things that I have wanted to do for many years. I sleep till I wake up then it's the hot tub, then the computer. I usually plan a couple of things to do each day and if they don't get done oh well. I do what is necessary and what I feel like doing and when I am tired I just take a nap. I just wonder if I will ever get caught up and then what but so far more and more come up and it doesn't stop. Wife wants thei buddy wants breakfest grandkids want pluss so far so good call me tomorrow and I'll tell you if I have time to be board.
