Instead of water in the bucket... fill it with Soy Sauce, White Vinigar, Sugar, Worchestershire Sauce and your favorite Smoke Flavoring.
By so doing, not only will you rid your RV of mice, you'll also be marinating your supper...IF you happen to be The Travel Channel's "Bizzare World's" Andrew Zimmern.
We'll see ya ... but don't be offended if I turn down an invitation for supper!

Yes, I plan to sit the traps on a square of plastic wrap. That way I can open the trap and wrap up the mouse for disposal.

End of dirt road, no signs in sight, sun going down: I am not lost, just getting ready to go camping.
The mouse or meese if more then one, got past my first line of defense.
Which is, the 6 neighborhood cats that patrol my yard and the two hawks that live in the trees on my property.
You should draw up plans for your water trap and patent it. I could be the better mouse trap and make you rich. You do sterilize your snap traps between uses right. Wouldn't want to comtaminate the mice.
bldrbuck;
I don't know if I could sell the bucket traps. From what I have read here on the forum, fellow RV'ers who want free camping or don't want to pay more than $5.00 per night might not want to spend that kind of money.
Here is the break down; 1. Free bucket from the bakery shop in Safeway market. 2. Soda can provided by wife after drinking soda. 3. Wire left over from stringing grapevines. 4. Spoonful of peanut butter taken from jar on hand for grandson visits. 5. Ramp stick from wood pile.
6. Water from Creek. 7. 5 minutes labor to assemble unit.
And, I would need a business license. Since I live in Kalifornia, a license to sell better mouse trap probably would be a Gazillon dollars.
Mice ? Whats that. We have never had any problems with mice in the past 40+ years as RV'ers. If you take the time to seal up an RV, and keep it clean, and remove any food when not in use, you won't have any. Good Luck. Happy Camping. Dan & Jill

Hello Dan and Jill
For 39 years I thought the same way. The week we brought the unit home I spent a day working underneath sealing cracks and holes to keep out mice and bugs.
Now, I have a nice down comforter with mice droppings and urine stains. Wife said burn it.
When we come home from any trip the Wife cleans out the TT, washes down counter tops and the stove. Cleans out the Refrigerator, and any cabinets that we had put stuff into. She wants the unit ready to go next time.
So, right now I am in the mode of: Welcome Mr Mouse, have a bite of peanut butter or cheese.(Wife wanted one trap set with cheese to see if cheese would work)
Hope your luck continues and you never have visitors.
