How can I find out a model of number of a 5th wheel if I have the vin number? It is 5th wheel is a 2004 Cardinal by Forest River. It has 2 slides, bunkhouse and was told it is 36 feet. The vin number is 4x4fcag214g081368.

All help appreciated.

Might have a weight or equipment serial number listing inside one of the kitchen cabinet doors withe the model number on it.

Oops, it's not yours--maybe just ask?

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

I've seen a breakdown on VIN# some place but can't put my hands on it right now. You might try at cardinalrvclub.org. The contacts for Forest river are there too.

Call Forest River Inc Cardinal division and ask them the question.
Bye the way, not really smart to post the Vin number. Someone could create all sorts of problems

I found what I was looking for. 4X4 = forest river. F = fith wheel. CA = Cardinal. G = 31 ft.. 2 = 2 axles. 1 = check sum. 4 = 2004. g = plant at 52277 CR 19 Elcart Indiana. 081368 = sequence number.

Hope this helps.

You lost me on this one. Unless I am mistaking it for something else, for many years it has been a requirement that all automobiles have their VIN in the dash, drivers side, visible from the outside. Now I realize that a trailer is not an automobile but I have not heard of any issues due to the VIN being visible on cars and trucks. Exactly what problems could someone cause?

Yea, but posting it on the internet IMHO is only asking for problems. I would never post a vin or license number on like for fear of someone getting it and using it on a wreck or stolen vehicle.

I know the answer but I'll need your ss# first. Kidding but I would also stay away from posting such numbers. I'm sure Frank is taking care of this as I type.
