Stall mats as mentioned above, which I think are the same as stable mats, are made of highly compressed pieces of rubber. They do not compress to any degree in use, nor to they warp or rot. My truck has 5th wheel rails in the bed so I have cut pieces of plywood to build the bed up to the height of the top of the rails then put down stable mats for non-skid properties and for a little shock absorption. These mats can be purchased at any farm supply store.

I had the exact same problem...Now I use a 1"x4'x8' foam thermashear foil insulation board available at Lowes for about $16.99...Lightweight, but supports my 4,400lb camper just fine and adds a bit of additional insulation value to the basement.

I'd add a single length of wood, 2"X4"X60" in the floor accross the front of the truck bed. It will hold the camper a lttle to the rear, and the tank away from the bumper as someone else mentioned.

Easy, cheap, and the camper sits flat on the floor.

I did the same thing as 3 Tons above except I purchased the 2"x4'x 8' foam thermashear foil insulation board and then placed the rubber floor mat on top of that in order to clear my BigFoot bed to cab Clarence. The pounds per square food is very low when distributing the 3,000# over a 4'x 6' area load to the bed and the additional insulation, light weight weight and sound insulation is the way to go. 3,000# /4'x 6'x 12'= 10.4 PSI,....not very much to crush the foam.

Still kicking...just not as high.

I don't know what the bottom of your camper is like but if I needed to raise mine up an inch or so I would just screw plywood to the bottom of the camper. That way you don't have to mess with it when you unload.

With my previous truck (the one in the sig. picture) I had used a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood.
With my new truck (2009 Dodge 3500), with the plywood, and the front door dragged on the cabover. (moment of panic when I thought I had smashed the Satellite antenna into the bottom of the cabover, but there was 1/4 inch to spare).
I added some 1x3 strapping to the bottom of the plywood. Now I have good clearance, and as a bonus, there is now enough clearance that the satellite radio works!

Sorry for the delayed response. It took me a couple of days to get the pictures. I got this idea from someone else. I think I saw it in the TCU forum. Between the bed mat and the wood it gets the TC at the perfect height for the pick-up bed. I recently installed the fiberglass/plastic type product on the 45* angles and I think it helps the TC slide into position better. Only used it one time since improvement but I think it's going to work out.
Oh yeah! Everything is removable!

Thanks everyone for all the ideas and replies. I rolled the camper out of the shop last night and will do some measuring and more investigation this weekend on how much lift I really need. There's some great ideas here!

Be very careful if you put screws into the camper in the area of the water tank... a leak in that area can cause damage over time that costs thousands of dollars to repair.
