Is there any particular brand or spec Dextron fluid Allison recommends for the 3060 transmission?

If budget were no issue I would go with Transyd, but needing almost 5 gallons at $40-$50 per gallon, thats more than I feel like spending.

Dexron III is perfectly compatible.

Dexron III is perfectly compatible.
My last 2 changes were with dextron 3 no problem in 35,000 miles

Not sure about your 3060 but there was a list of serial numbers and at a point on the list they did not recommend using the newer dexron fluids something about the new fluid and the older seals in the transmission this of course was on the Allison in my truck which I think is the 2000 better check with Allison they have a pretty good website. They were talking about dexron VI which is the current standardand that was backwards compatible
Dexron III OR Dexron IV is usuable where Dexron II was used....but NOT Dexron V or VI

I just bought the filter kit and 5 gallons of Transynd here and it set me back $175 for the total

Did the same here but set me back $256 through Allison dealer. The cheapest I could find.
