NO need to stretch the new springs with a block & tackle.

When I replace springs I just bend them with my hands and insert a shim, and I'm an old weak guy. Then bend in the opposite direction and insert another shim. Etc, etc, until the spring is long enough to fit on the retracted jack.

Ebay
Is a good place to buy new springs but you must know which ones to order. There are several different lengths and tensions.

I just had a jack replaced at the HWH plant in Iowa. The tool preferred by the mechanic who did the work is a pair of fence pliers, the old farm tool for stringing and fastening barbed wire fencing. He just grabbed the bottom loop of the spring, pulled down and maneuvered the spring off and back on a lot faster than it took me to type this comment. Of course, standing up under a coach raised up on a lift is a lot more convenient than working on a flat floor on your back.

On my old coach on the front springs with the jacks up I just grab the spring by hand and pulled them down and hooked them. The rear that another story I paid someone to do them.
