Remove the existing tie down points

leaving you with tthese bolts front and back

purchase a 10' length of unistrut, measure front to back leaving 2" sticking out the front to bend up later. Cut a knotch from the sides and bend down

left over waste material will be very small
Use original brackets to mark position so that the unistrut can be drilled for the bolt holes and the tie down holes

drill holes through the down leg and through the camper skirt into the power cord storsge box... use carrige bolts from inside the box out to protrct the wiring
I'll try to get the rest on soon

posting this stuff is near impossible at the edge of cyberspace.
The unistrut ties the skirt and the whole area under the slide together.
This prevents the sag on pre 2004 lance 1161 truck campers and others too i imagine.
It also repairs damage to the rear tie down due to hitting a speed bump or a hole in the road.
Note: I said to leave 2" on the front... cut away the sides and fold the top up 90 degrees and attach with screws
This is a cost of $17
I'll keep trying to post the rest of the pictures.

That looks real good sleepy. Looks like it would make the whole thing stiffer especially when the slide is out. There is only one or two things I would do different if it were mine, and that is to reuse the original tie downs with the unistrut. Reason I say that is because I'd be worried that the softer steel of the unistrut would eventually start wallowing at the holes. The other thing is (and you may have done it, I can't see in the pictures) add additional screws in the middle of the unistrut under the slide in the middle between the tiedown screws. And maybe you cant do that because the screws would interfere with something, like I said I cant see enough to tell.
Does look good though and I see the common sense behind it.
Are you planning on painting it?

Sleepy: Great post. I appreciate the call the other day. The pics are worth a thousand words!!! Thanks for taking the time/effort to post. I can really use them to fix my camper prior to spending 6 weeks in Colorado/New Mexico in a few weeks. Have fun in Canada, hope you get to Newfoundland.

Sleepy; One question. What size/type/model of Unistrut did you use? I will have to order mine since I do not live anywhere near a dealer so I will need the specific type. Thanks,
Harold

1 5/8" X 1 5/8" galvanized unistrut is what I used... I won't paint it.
The metal is as thick as the original brackets and is rolled... it's stronger rthan the original.
It is available in Stainless steel, steel with green paint, Galvanized steel, and aluminum (too soft and flexable.)
An electrical supply house is best sourse (ask an electricion) but home depot carries some with holes that can be made to work with washers.
I have used the SS and it is nice but pricy.
Good luck...

Sleepy, forgive me if I missed it in the posts, but what damage did you have? It is not apparent from the photos.
