One of these new Vesta's blew past me today going North on I5 near the Oregon border. It didn't have tags. I hadn't heard of it and googled it. Wound up on this thread.
It is a nice looking unit but I don't think you could pry $200,000 out of me for it.

I don't like the front end at all. For diesels and aerodynamics and looks it's hard to beat Pac Car's TA-2000 Kenworth Series. Those vehicles had many hours in wind tunnels for the engineers to work on the aerodynamics. I've seen the bus conversions use a little of that technology but not the Class A's. And when it comes to the steep hills and curves of all the Western States it's hard to apply aerodynamics and Pac Car will testify to that! Interesting Post thanks for posting Chuck! Happy Trails, John

And I'll say it before Chuck does. 51 gallon fuel tank? Maybe if it really gets 14 MPG (700 mile range)...

Ha, I have a MY2000 HR Vacationer. It has a sloping nose but the mirrors and awnings stick out. These new models will be interesting to check out. But right now the nearest HR dealer is 325 miles away. Maybe I'll have to find the nearest Monaco dealer..

agreed but per the Monaco Vesta website specs:
Max HP 260 @2600 RPM/Max Torque 660 lbs. ft @ 1600 RPM
I hope they get the formula for tranny/gears right. that is a decent amount of torque for 33 000. but less torque/# than I have.
Like I said before, I'm not against this model, it just "feels" a little anemic for a vehicle that is supposed to be a great traveler - IE more driving then parking per the "aero vs box" discussion.
Also the 2500 Tranny is at it's max out of the box, no room for others to "tweak" it all.

I question the real world usability. 260HP for 33000# of MH up a mountain. That's a lot of MH for that little motor, must have some great gears in there. I know my 5 speed 362HP 400something torque motor sure works hard on 6+% grades. on top of all the MH it has a hitch rating of 7000#'s. Yet more dead weight to haul.
I like the concept - make that 35'+ with (a) huge slide(s), keep the tow rating and fuel economy and they'll have a winner.
the length would keep us in the smaller Prov Parks and State Parks we like to go to.
I do like the concept but I won't be one of the early owners
