Why would you want to travel with the generator on?
Might want to charge the battery, run the furnace without using the battery, or run the A/C so the TC would be cooled when you stop. Not often, but I have done used mine while on the road. I have ran the A/C a couple of times, about thirty minutes before my arrival time.

My best mod is replacing the 3-way fridge with a Tundra 12v compressor fridge!

There are other mods:

-LED interior lights
-120W solar system
-sinewave inverter
-additional battery
-battery monitor
-cabinet door springs
-5 gal. gas cans and holders
-plumbing winterizing valves, etc.
-permanent mount folding steps
-removing dinette table

Mounted my Honda on the rear bumper of Lance 961. Has 2 ratchet hold downs, 2 Schlag cable w/Master locks, Trimax alarm cable lock, and Clifford Matrix X1 alarm on truck.

- Adding a solar powered computer fan to the fridge vent.

- Installing a plywood partition between the under sink storage area and the under counter drawers. Pots and pans were sliding against the drawers and interfering with the drawer slides, no more.

- Back porch.

- And due to reading this thread, today I wired the remote cutoff switch for the furnace next to my head! No more crawling out of bed to turn the furnace on or off.

1. Love my solar panel!

2. Not really a mod to the camper but I built a dolly about a year ago so I can store the camper in the garage when it is off the truck.

3. Just finished adding a battery disconnect switch for the camper battery.

4. While I was in there I also added a new 12 volt outlet.

I made A LOT MORE WALKING ROOM in our Lance 990 by replacing the big, square table that came with it, and by removing the angled box that they build beneath the table for both a footrest and storage.

I had fun with my mods! Bought an oldy but a a goody SUNLINE Sportsman, $400. I wanted this as a learning curve before I went to the big one. Being 20 or so yrs old I ripped out the stove and oven and made an aluminum shelf for a two burner Coleman. Adde 3 storage drawers under it. Ripped out the old water heater and the big bulge in the side so it would slide in my stepside better. Ripped out the fridge and made a storage cabnete. Ripped out the shower, black tank and bowl. Finished it nice and put in a portapoty, works great. Moved the table to the window for more room. Took out the old furnice and made more storage. Added a battery in the propane compartment. Most of our camping is summer right now and we live out of a cooler. All the camp sites we visit have hot water showers. Boil a pot for dishes. Added dark fabric over windows with Velcro for better sleeping. Big plus was the 280lbs I got rid of! Learning a lot for the next rig. Great idea for a thread, picked up some good stuff!---LOUIE

First time adding pictures - I hope it works. This bumper is 18" wide, with a two step foldable trailer step attached. It works great - it helps to have a friend who is a super welder. We have a '98 9"6' Citation TC - and honestly, this was the only mod it needed. Maybe solar panels in the future, but getting rid of the deadly scissor steps was a huge priority. We love this set up!

Next I will be adding a false bottom to one of the cabinets so valuables can be hidden.

Can you provide some pics or exactly "where" the secret cabinet for valuables will be along with an outside pic of your rig? Address would also be appreciated.....
