Need some advice here.
Presently, we have a factory-installed Dometic Sealand toilet, pedal flush with a hand spray. It is 17.5 inches high up from the floor.
We wish to install a handicap (higher) toilet. I called Mobility RV, no help. I called Camping world, no help. They advised me to call Dometic, no help. Dometic advised me to call Sealand, again no help. Dometic stated there is no handicap gravity-drop toilet in the Traveler Series.
Where do I go now?
In my 1st coach, 2001 Monaco LaPalma, I had a dealer install a high handicap toilet, so I know they are "out there."
Surely there is somebody that has a handicap toilet in a Winn. Adventurer or same line.

Hi,

In my motorhome, there is a sort of shelf that the toilet sits on, I guess because the toilet needs to make a tun in the plumbing below the toilet, close to the dual rear wheels, and above the black water tank. So I have a super short toilet that sits on a 4" high shelf.

I don't know if that will help at all, yet you might be able to mount a shelf, cover it in floor tile, and then mount the toilet on top of that.

If you want to look at a RV like mine, check RvSearch.com and look for Fleetwood 30' long. I have a Bounder, Pace Arrow and Southwind should have the same layout. You might find one for sale near your hometown. I have a 97, and the same floorplan was used between 95 and 1999, perhaps a few more years either side of those 5.

Good Luck,

Fred.

You can install a 2 1/2" riser. Thetford riser.

Why don't you just install the same toilet that you had in your 2001 Monaco LaPalma. Either that, or make a riser for the one you have. Plumbing stores have all the parts you need.

If you visit a well equipped Hospital/Convalescent supply store you will see a wide selection of toilet accessories. An adjustable 4 legged support that fits over the toilet and extends a sleeve into the bowl permits a higher seat and firm support when rising. An example of some of the many assistive options can be seen here: http://www.toiletology.com/handicap.shtml

Any of the medical supply houses can get you one of these which will fit around your existing toilet.

A normal home toilet is 14" and a handicap is 17". It sounds like you already have that. Would an assist bar be of some help? In addition to the risers that are nade by Thetford you may find a seat with a lift already built in. I got my wife a handicapped toilet for home for our anniversary and the next year had to get her another one for the basement.
