I'm thinking when one boards something, plane, ship, train, one does indeed get "on" board.

How about a Moderator telling folks to quit using FOWL language.
Well, one poster DID mention chickens!

Found in another ATC thread:
"decern"
I guess he meant "discern", but I don't know for sure...

This is just a list of misused common words that melt my brain when I hear them used. Please add to the list if you can think of any.

-On a different post someone used the term "lead pipe". I answered, it's steel pipe not lead. They stopped making lead pipes in the 1920's or whenever.

The is an old saying when something is a certainty lead pipe cinch

origin of the term

You can get picky about common terms, when some says push down on the gas pedal, it isn't accurate because many vehicles use diesel and electric power. people have turned trademark names into a generic, when people say Coke, Kleenex, Xerox we know what the mean.

Most of the time I am not bothered by people misusing a word or term but one of the things that bothers me a lot is when I hear people use clip in a gun instead of the proper term magazine.

I once read that studies have shown that most accidents occurr within 10 miles of home, so I moved

Ad in a local on line swap: ROD IRON PATIO SET. Looks a lot like my wrought iron set.

About the NYC accident where the SUV went over the rail... the newscaster on CNN kept saying the vehicle hit the "center median."

Hmmm..I wonder if she then drove over the 'side shoulder' after that?
