I am surprised nobody else agreed with this post. An old timer gave me this advice a while ago. It has worked like a champ for me. I heard that Winnie makes a replacement striker with a nylon barrel exactly for this issue, but I have not been able to source this item, and also I am not sure if it will work with my door which is manufactured by Atwood.

I also believe this is part of your issue. Where the striker bolt(bolt that the latch of the door closes on) is located, you will see that there is also a fairly large washer next to the door jamb. That's because the hole in the jamb is over-sized to allow for some minor adjustment.

Before you loosen it up and move it, take a pencil and dray a small mark at the side and top of the washer on the jamb so you have a frame of reference to re-locate it to the original position if needed.

Take a close look at any wear you may see on the bolt. For example, f it is scuffing on the bottom of the bolt, it probably needs to be moved down and in slightly. Don't make any huge adjustments as it may take several attempts to get it lined up perfectly.

To move it, loosen it slightly with a wrench that fits the end of the bolt, as they usually have a hex head on the end. I like to loosen to the point that I have to take a small body hammer and lightly tap on the bolt to move it.

I think you'll find that most of the door squeaks come from this area.

Good Luck!

I frequently find squeaks in the hinges. A squirt of silicon spray on the hinges usually does the trick. Wipe off any excess.
I agree with this post I do the same thing! John

My squeak was the screen door moving against the jamb....a rubber shim fixed it.

I sometimes use silicone and treat the door gasket. It quits for a
while, worth a try

My door will squeak while driving if I dont slam it tight. Sometimes on rough roads it will pop to the next latch position and start squeaking. It sounds like your latch needs tighting to hold it tight up against the rubber. Then close with attitude. When I had mine at the factory service center they fixed it for years. Now it will unlatch to the next latched position. I need to adjust it.
Hope this helps

I have the same problem, sometimes its much louder than other times. I think its the rubber around the door rubbing against the rubber in the doorway. I have not been able to stop it.
