Let's escape some of the hot summer heat and head towards the cooler weather at Bald Mountain Camping Resort in the northeast Georgia mountains.
The campground offers assorted activities including fishing, miniature golf, swimming, hiking, shuffle board as well as several other activities.
These are open rallies and All are welcome to join in, for newbie’s this is a gathering of all kinds of campers just for camping fun, fellowship and of course plenty of eating. We will get together Saturday night for dinner with a theme.
I would like to offer a suggestion of a German theme, the town of Helen, Ga is about 30 minutes away and is a re-creation of an alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers with a touch of Bavaria. It's a nice place to spend the day.
We have 15 sites reserved for 8/5 and 8/6 (arrival on the 4th should not be a problem if you reserve early enough), OF2, 96-101 and 105-112, just about in the center of the campground map.
The rate per night per site will be 10% off the prevailing rate. All sites will include 50 amp electric, water, sewer, cable, and wireless Internet service.
Be sure to call their office at 706-896-8896 prior to July 1, 2011 to make your reservations and to PLEASE mention that you are with the Roaming RVers when you reserve. They do require a one-night deposit by Visa, MasterCard or Discover at the time of each reservation. If you need to make any changes or cancel, a 7-day-prior to arrival date cancellation policy is required to receive a deposit refund. No Shows will be charged the full amount of your reservation. You may take advantage of their FMCA, Good Sam or Escapee discount with proper membership identification at check-in.
The Park Pavilion will be reserved for our use throughout the Rally at no additional charge provided we meet the 15-sites reserved. The Pavilion does have a stage, sound system, full kitchen, bathroom facilities, and enough tables and chairs for seating of 250.
Please be advised that due to liability reasons, personally owned kayaks cannot be put into their lake, only theirs can be, to rent theirs is a nominal charge. For those that still want to use their own kayaks, you can go about 4 miles away to Lake Chatuge and put in at a public access point.
Please let me know when you make your reservation so I can add you to the list of campers who are coming.
