I'm sure glad you put your clothes on.... ....You could've gotten yourself arrested and or froze your "You know what" off (family show you know.... ).
Seriously, this sounds like a extremely great devise and yes, thanks for the up-date.

UPDATE: 22DEC2010
I just finished "hardwiring" the Cobra PhoneLynx (BT-215) bluetooth bridge to my RV's 12vdc system.
Again the reason for this is so that it will continue to link the freeze alarm to the cellphone even if we have a shore power interuption. The house battery should last for days at such a low wattage draw. The FREEZE ALARM uses a common 9v battery for power during a shore power interuption.
PARTS:
RADIO SHACK --- 274-1573 --- Size N Coaxial DC Power Plug
RADIO SHACK --- 275-0023 --- 20A 12vDC Illuminated Toggle Switch
West Marine --- 18-2 AWG Anchor Marine Grade wire
West Marine --- Misc. spade connectors
The Outback 282FE has an entertainment center on the back wall. There is a 12vdc motor that raises and lowers the LCD TV. I used piggyback (multi-stack) spade connectors to tap into this source of 12vdc power. I ran a red (dc+) and a black (dc-) wire from this source to a lighted 12v switch. The lighted 12v switch will be an easy way for me to turn the Phonelynx OFF when I'm not using it...and to prevent it from putting a drain on the house battery when the unit is being stored. I chose the blue lighted switch to follow the color code used for bluetooth accesories. From there another red & black wire go to the Size N Coaxial DC power plug. The power plug connects directly to the PhoneLynx unit in place of the 110vac wall adapter that it comes with.
With the camper plugged into shore power and the converter operating...the voltage at the PhoneLynx power plug is 13.0vdc.
I fired the unit up...paired it with my Bluetooth enabled cellphone...and reconnected the freeze alarm unit.
I performed a test by turning off the shorepower connection. The Freeze Alarm was programmed to ALERT "1 minute" after power failure... It called my wifes cellphone and made the voice alert announcement perfectly.
We'll continue testing these two devices during next months camping adventure.
The only glitch that I've run accross so far has to do with the security code.
If we use something like 9-9-9-9...we can remotely cancel the alert with my wife's cellphone. When we used our street address 5-5-9-5...I guess her cellphone does not make a long enough tone for the FREEZE ALARM to recognize. A regular landline has no problem...but her cellphone seems to have difficulty with certain Security PINs... I think we'll just stay with 9-9-9-9 for the time being. We'll try programming other numbers again, the next time we upgrade our cellphones.

The FREEZE ALARM w/ Cobra BT-215 system is working great...
Just gave it another 9 days of use in Georgia. The BT-215 was running off the RV's 12vdc power the entire time.
I dusted off one of our old Sprint cellphones...and had it reflashed to work on the "Page Plus" cellphone service. They use Verizon towers for coverage. They have a $10 pay as you go plan that allow you to go for 120 days...if you add time within 120 days...your credit rolls over. They charge a .50 admin fee once a month. So, for about $30 per year...I can monitor the RV anytime we go camping without sacrificing one of our everyday use cellphones.
Phone Flashing service
Couldn't be any happier!

Wow...that's not really a very good option.
For $390...you get a whole 1/2 mile radius??
Or...
Freeze Alarm (FA-I-CCA) $149.00
Cobra Phonelynx (BT-215) $36.96
PagePlus Phone w/bluetooth $39.00 (or use an old Verizon or Sprint phone)
So, for $224.96...you can receive a notification when ever/ where ever you get cellphone reception... Page Plus service runs $10.00 per 120 days...so basically $30/year.
The savings over the dogshowvans.com model would be sufficient to cover the first 5 1/2 years of Page Plus phone service.
I'm just saying.
I don't feel that a 1/2 mile radius is sufficient coverage to allow us to go out to dinner, take a bike ride, or go kayaking.
The BT-215 can be wired to your RV's (or dog show van's) 12vdc electrical system...no need for backup power system...you already own one. The Freeze Alarm takes a 9vdc Lithium Battery to power during 120vac power failure.

Hmmm....
Those all appear to be either 1) More expensive, 2) Less capable, or 3) Reliant on a USB/Internet connection?
I wouldn't trust my dogs life to ANY version of Windows on ANY Platform, using ANY source of Internet, ANY day of the week. Just not happening. Too many ways it can fail...and not in a fail-safe manner. The closest thing to it that I would trust is the WEBCAM concept that some people use. They aim a webcam inside their RV so that it can view the pets kennel & wall thermometer at the same time. They have to get on the internet constantly to check in on their pets. They can see their pet on the screen...and read the thermometer in the background. It doesn't NOTIFY them...if the power fails...they'll just notice a blank website when they try to load the webcam. It's workable...but still not my favorite way to keep them safe.
By all means...everyone should examine all the options though. It's not one size fits all. There are a lot of choices...and hopefully everyone can find one that gives their pets the desired protection...and their owner's peice of mind.
