Dave,

I'm not off until Thursday. That was Anne Brown posting from my computer. She is traveling with Rob & Jayne.

Looks like Marylou and I are going to come down Fri AM sometime and stay for the duration. First camper rally for us, though we've been truck camping for seven or eight years. Put us down for the Steamers Saturday too.

Would anybody be interested in a (VERY)informal acoustic or bluegrass music jam? I figure in a group as large as this there must be some other musicians. My musical leanings are bluegrass, folk,Irish and Civil War/Rev War, (we're living history folks), as well as gospel. I can bring along my octave mandolin and a few harmonicas if there are any other musicians who'd like to get together.

John,

I'm not a musician but music would be great at the rally. Feel welcome to play.

Posted from the campground - big thunderstorm last night but all is good and dry this morning. Sunshine and bright blue skies. With all the rain they've had down here, I expected standing water but not. We'll head out to explore the area today. Joe wants to go over to the Army War College and walk through all their outside exhibits you can see from the interstate.

Looking forward to more folks coming in.

Hello,

Just bought a truck camper, Sun Lite 955SD. Just found this forum, just read about this rally. Just called Western Valley Park and got a spot for Saturday night.

Looking forward to our first trip, first rally, and meeting fellow campers ! Should arrive around noon on Saturday.

A) I hope everyone has a safe trip - we'll be coming in on Friday (morning I hope)
B) Mikee - don't worry, we're bringing our appetites!
C) Did someone say bluegrass??????????? That'd be sweet!

I believe all PA highways are open again (aside from the usual PENDOT construction). Most secondary's are open, however there are still several backroads/tertiary state roads that are missing one lane or more.

You can try pa511.com for road conditions, but for roads closed due to the flooding, there's a more comprehensive list at www.wnep.com (select road closings on the right side).

Hello Everyone,,,

Hi Kastaway Ken...

Let Me welcome you to the world of Truck Camping. I have been using this kind of Camper since 1975 and would not have any other kind of Rig.
The versitility make T/C all the more fun as You do not have to worry about "Taods" or finding a parking space because for the most part We are in the 25/26 ft range.

Since you are arriving sometime on Saturday, AND want to make sure you get Steamers for the Saturday Night - Corn/Hoagie/Steamers Dinner. I would suggest you fire off an E-mail to Jim Crisafulli or Bruce Scott who are Co-WagonMasters for this event, as well as the entire weekend. Just tell them how many tickets you want and You can pay when you arrive.

I have maxed out the amount of Steamers I can buy at 300 pounds and want to make sure every one gets a Taste of these critters. Well they are not actually critters but soft shell clams. Once I know how many have purchased Tickets. I can divide it into 300 pounds and hope that my portion control works fine.

Hello Everyone,,,

Hi Buggsy...

Welcome to the North-East Truck Camping Jamboree. I am just flabbergasted at the outpouring of all your people who want to come to our little Event. Well I guess its not little anymore.
I just hope We can live up the the expectations - expected of Us.

Heck our largest Jamboree to date was in north Hudson NY where We had I think 45 rigs... We have doubled it for Carlisle.

I have a ton of new respect for Ron and Michele Humphrey who run the Mid Alantic Truck Camping Rally in April. They have to deal with the logistics of 170 to 180 rigs.
