Just got a chinese LED today to replace my 1076 incadescent. It blows my 15 amp fuse. Any ideas why? The LED ad says it replaces 1156 1073, but no mention of 1076, figured the base is the same so it should work. Any ideas?
Thanks

Tough one. Hmmm. I wouldn't think reverse polarity would do it, but that's all I've got at the moment.

Cheers,

The 1076 is a BA15D, double contact, base, the 1156 is a BA15S, a single contact base. The single contact shorts out the 2 contacts in the socket.

Bingo! Thankyou! Wrong bulb. Anyone need a brand new LED single contact base?

I was so jazzed about the lite produced by my two sample purchased LED panels that I ordered six more. Now begins the waiting so I come here and reading I am now wondering about life expectancy. Is it better to run my new lites on straight battery? Is it harder on the panels when running power off converter while hooked to shore power? Will the brightness dim with time? Just curious. Any thoughts?

Long post...

Lights arrived Monday and it took me a couple of days to get outside and try them. Here are the results.

I am replacing dual 1141 lights in my fixtures. I ordered these:
24-5050
36-1210

1. My 1141's, two lights, left and right.

2. Left- 1141, right-36-1210
[image]

3. Left- 1141, right- 24-5050
[image]

4. Left- 24-5050, right 36-1210
[image]

5. Two banks of all 1141's.

6. Front lights with 2, 36-1210, rear lights 2, 1141's.

Conclusion: (all subjective and my opinion only)
The 24-5050 looked green to me and my DW. These will end up in my basement storage.
The 36-1210 were very close to the natural 1141 color, maybe a shade more white (which we like), and seemed a little brighter.
**One out the four 1156 bases, one does not work so I will have to remove the hot glue and check the solder joint.

I really liked the 36-1210 and will be ordering 10 more (to start).
