Snow is still keeping me on hold but I think I can finish this in this month-then I will put a picture here. I did add black eyed susans/Rudbeckia and other flowers and I think I'm going to have to chop down one of my apple trees because its mostly dead anyway and in the way. I put in cherry wood rounds and logs to enclose the gravel and break it from the grass. I will burn the apple wood to test the fire pit, hope I get the BBQ in by then. With the flooding we expect this year I know I'm going to use this area.

We've got the cedar picnic table, a stone fire ring, plenty of fire wood and the 30 amp service in the woods at our house but right now they are all spread out and not together. If fuel gets more expensive maybe we should consider consolidating them in one place and staying put. I estimate We just spent about $1,500 on diesel fuel our last trip just concluded.

I saw a lot of interesting manufactured heavy duty fire rings with lift grates on our last trip. Anyone know of a source that sells them for places like state and national parks you can buy for yourself? The best was in the Cochise Stronghold National Forest Campground in Arizona. They not only had a large fire ring with flip-over grate on the ground but also had one of those adjustable grate pedestal grills for charcoal at each campsite.

Davydd-I found several suppliers of those rings including ADA fire rings from a few sources-try RV PARK SUPPLIES or one of the others -I used "fire rings" and "campground fire rings" as a search on the Internet to find the suppliers but what I found with the rings was a big shipping charge because they are so heavy or I would have used one of those rings. The Browning Camp Chief ring is what I settled on as Browning is in this State. You live closer to the suppliers I found and shipping may be much less, I really wanted one of those rings rather than the one I used.

last year, I added a dump station to my back yard so I did not have to stop on the way home. I already had water there, and I have also added an area with a fire ring. Next up- a 30 amp hook up and I am set!

Alaska is next! Still trying to fit the pontoons to the RV so We can get to Hawaii!

We should organize a site exchange. Lots of great destinations mentioned. We live across the bridge from a gorgeous beach.

Hermie lives on the concrete pad at the end of our driveway and luckily the HOA covenants allow vans (not RVs.) We run water and electric from the garage for maintenance and pre-trip prep. VERY handy. Could easily sleep out there when guests overflow.

Need to figure out the dump connection to our septic.

I love 'home camping' in my B and did it quite a few times this past winter.

If I wanted to see the ocean, I would park it in one section of our property, and if I wanted deep woods, I would park it in another section. My wife thinks I am ready for Trembling Hills Sanatorium and can not understand why I would rather sleep in the B than our beautiful home.

I guess you either get it or you don't.
