I am in Myrtle Beech now. The dodge towed real well. The only real problem is all the people asking questions about truck. I am at Apache camp ground. And it was hard getting unhooked because of questions. I really don't mind. Having fun !

From what I have seen from what you have posted here you deserve a GREAT Vacation! If you are going to be in the Central Florida area let me please let me know. It would be a blast to see your Dodge up close and personal.

Have Fun,

Hi,

I was reading a article about a truck that "Skirted" the truck bumper laws in his state by making the bumpers about 24" tall! It was a picture in a 4X4 magazine about 10 - 20 years ago.

If you really want to upset their day, build another fuel tank about 1" thinner, to make it maximum capacity around 85 gallons, same basic shape, and tell them they measured wrong, check again, it will only hold 85 gallons of fuel, so it is legal!

I guess you can go with some super singles and use custom rims, they do make 3,500 - 5,000 pound rated rims, you might need to go with 19.5" though. THat will solve the tires sticking out the sides to far, and perhaps solve all the probems except the booster seat.

Anyway I am guessing that you are driving the fire truck conversion to Florida? That seems like a great plan, with all the problems they are giving you on the three axle truck. To bad they want to nit pick your truck so much.

Taller bumpers, and they will hang down within 12" of the ground, so little cars will not disapear under your truck, probably a good idea anyway.

And you must have known that the fenders really are made to cover the tires, so mud is not thrown up on a rainy day. So mainly common sence things they want you to correct.

Fred.

All fines were dropped except for one. And that was just to make D. O. T. Cop happy. The truck is running fine with extra axle mods. I am still working on plan to tie all axles together. Thanks for asking.
