I am looking for a front mounted Receiver Hitch for my 2011 Dodge 3500. I have located this version Curt Manufacturing 2500 Hitchfor the 2500 but after inquiring with the manufacturer they tell me it is different from the 3500 and they do not have a 3500 model available as of yet. Any of you guys mounted a hitch or front rack to your newer Dodge 3500?

I put a Bodiak hitch on the front on my GMC 2500 and think it's great. Check them out I'd bet they have one for your Dodge. Easy installation too.

I have a front hitch on my 2006 3500. I've gone to all my resources and they all come back "no 2011 available yet".

I had a front hitch on my 2001 Dodge and it was pretty easy to install myself. When I got the 06', the instructions had me cutting my frame with a plasma cutter. I took it to my corner muffler shop and they installed it for $75. It stands close to the top for "best $75 I ever spent."

I saw several references to Bodiak hitches on the web but all of the links I can find are not working, seems they may have gone out of business?

Thanks Super Dave, I have found that when searching for after market products for my truck that very few manufacturers are listing 2011 items, so I usually plug in 2010 for the model year and catch more products. I am not aware of any differences in the 2 model years. I did locate this thread on building your own system that replaces the factory tow hooks Custom Front Receiver Mount

Thats one bad thing about buying a new model year truck.......its sometimes quite awhile till the aftermarket sellers list the new year. Since you have a Dodge you might be OK with 2010 add ons. GM restyled their frames so I would be afraid to try 2010 add-ons for the 2011 model trucks. When I bought a front receiver hitch for my truck (Curt brand), they made one that did not require cutting away any of the plastic molding, which I liked. The draw back to that is it does hang lower in the front, as it comes out from under the front bumper. Im used to it, but you do have to be more careful when pulling up to a high curb, etc.

If your talking about a Ram with a Cummins engine, my friend says they are the same frame. Unless Dodge put something in the way the 2500 model should fit. Is it possible you got bad info???

Ron, I thought the same thing. I cannot imagine there is any difference but the factory rep assures me that there is and they have a new model that will fit both but no idea when it will release. I asked him what the difference was and he could not tell me. I have a feeling it would be something minor but it is hard to say. I would think I could mod it but who knows.
