I use a Flo-Jet portable too.. Being a ham radio operator I try to keep a stock of Anderson Power Pole connectors handy, these suckers are great.. I had an electrical box right above my sewer connections and less than six feet from the main fuse panel in the motor home (perhaps 8 feet as the wire runs) so I just ran some 10ga from the fuse panel to a pair of anderson power poles securly glued into the box. From there it is straight down to the pump for tanks 1 and 2 (black and Gray 1) and I have a 10ga anderson power pole extension cord for Gray 2, eventually I'll have a pair of power poles there too, just out of stock just now.

The site I"m on it's perhaps 20-25 feet to the hole and not very well sloped. The 50 foot black hose (And yes, it's black) does the job well.

I use the 3" when I can but it's nice having the option of the macerator.

The sewer solution.. It uses a lot of fresh water, wasting water and putting a greater load on the septic/sewer system.. I'd rather not use it.

but people who shy away from the sewer solution will use one of the back flush attachments and fill up their tank and dump it which uses as much or more water, I have read here where people will back fill their tank 3-4 times.
