@mariekw824

I have been a member a long time, when I joined I had tiny 8ft Pop-Up trailer so I was PUCampin!. When I got married, we decided to get something bigger, especially something with a bathroom, so we were no longer PUCampin, but I kept my name

The one episode I saw, the one guy bought so many cases of cereal he had to trailer it home. He did give it to a local food pantry. My wife remembers when the stores here in SoCal were more generous and you could get big discounts, but it has not been that way here for many years.

Last October I began using coupons and had quite a stockpile....I knew I was being laid off from work on December 1st so I stocked up on EVERYTHING!!!!....The only thing I needed to buy was toilet paper...I returned to work last week and I still have 2 bars of soap, 1 bottle of shampoo and a can of coffee left from my stockpile....LOL!

I don't like to brag, but I can still fit into the same pair of ear rings that I wore in high school!!!!

ratherBcampin ... THAT'S the way to do it. The people on the show will NEVER use up what they have. I mean 4000+ items in their stockpile? SOME give away a lot of things .... others ... just hoard ... very neat and organized.

I haven't watched the show and I don't "coupon" - I shop as wisely and frugally as possible buying what I want and need. Our local store offers lots of sale items without coupons.

But I *thought* I heard that some of the people featured are allegedly committing "coupon fraud"?? This story explains it:

I guess if you can decode the UPC numbers, you can make a coupon for one thing, go through the cash register as something else??

We don't have any of the big national/regional grocery store chains here. We have a chain that only has stores locally and another chain that has most of their stores here with a few in other cities.

Only one grocery store here will double coupons and only a total of 5 on certain days of the week. Occasionally they will have a day where they double 10 coupons.

Most of the stuff on those shows would never work locally. The coupon fraud with UPCs supposedly won't work anymore as they have gone to a new type of barcode on coupons just in the last few months.

I only save coupons for products we regularly use or new items we want to try. Then we stock up when items are on sale when we can. Why not buy 4 bottles of laundry detergent on sale and there is room to store them and you know they will get used in the next several months?

Several months ago we started receiving fewer coupons for grocery items in our Sunday paper so I only have 2 or 3 coupons at the most instead of 8 or 10.

A year or so ago, we got behind a couple at Ft Knox who redeemed a few hundred dollars, in coupons. They had five or six basket of groceries.
Evidently a month's supplies.
I don't remember the amounts but it was a lot. There were plenty of checkouts though, unlike some places.
