I believe it's 3M that makes an automotive adhesive remover for removing glued weatherstriping on the insides of doors...a body shop will be able to tell you exactly what it is and where to get it, usually an automotive paint supplies store. My local Autozone-type stores don't carry it.

p.s. shadyskins...I did the same thing with my blue streak Tundra, looks much better IMO. Regards, BGood

Our 2007 Keystone Passport also has badly peeling decals on the front and perfect to near perfect decals on the sides. We are planning to remove the front and get something personalized for us/custom or just leave it plain. My vote is plain, so I am sure you will be seeing pictures of a new custom decal before the summer is out. ;-)

Yup I just scraped off the front decals on our Laredo last weekend. Hot air blower and plastic scrapper to get the vinyl off then lots of rags with mineral spirits to loosen the glue then scrap it off.

Looks fine with nothing on the front.

Our 2010 KZ decals had bubbles in them so they ALL got removed. There is NOT one decal on our camper at this time.

No damage to the 'shell' from the mineral spirits or high heat?

My wife and I used the gel version of Goo Gone to get the decals off. It is not very harsh, and works really well. You put it on, swrrl it around the residue, and it will list. Then take a razor blade to get the gel off. Apply the slightest amount of pressure just to take off the residue. Once you have everything just about off, a Mr. Clean Magic Sponge takes care of the rest. I was really worried about doing any damage to the fiberglass, and I was very pleased with the results. The more I read, I am leaning towards leaving the front plain.

Sorry to dredge this thread up, but a quick search turned it up as my best option for info.

My 02 Cougar is suffering from this as well....as is almost every other 02/03 Cougar we've ever seen. It doesn't seem to relate to sun exposure as ours is always parked so that the passenger side gets 100% exposure, and the drivers side gets zero...and both sides are peeling equally.

I'm at the crossroads of removing the decals completely - I'll probably start on the loose ones this weekend (I was able to peel 90% of a few smaller ones completely off at the campground last weekend) and leave whatever is salvageable for another day as I won't have time to do them all in one shot...unless the sorta-still-stuck ones come off a lot easier than I anticipate.

I contacted a few local vinyl supply companies about custom made replacements but didn't really come up with a design that I liked. I'm reluctant to reinstall factory replacements (if they're even available any longer?) as I read a few stories about people having done so only to see the replacements peel as well.

I also looked on eBay and there seems to be a few sellers offering generic or overstock decals that don't necessarily even fit our unit...

Anyone who re-decaled care to share where they sourced their replacements from?

Tim, my 2007 KZ Spree 318BHS also has most of it's decals peeling and a few are heavily cracked.

There are TT out there that are 30 years old that still have intact decals. It has to be that whom ever the manufacturers have selected for a decal supplier is producing some very sub-quality decals.

I've been to KZ but their response is to buy them from the local KZ dealer. I just find this laughable, as then they get to charge me a enormous mark up for me to fix a problem that I should never have had to begin with. If KZ were to sell them to me at cost, even then I'd have to think about it. Consider that this production mistake ends up costing them nothing, and I get to even at cost make up the difference from my pocket.

And lets not forget that I'm going to have this problem again in 3 years.

Frankly, it's turned me off to my KZ. I use to think that they backed their product. No I'm not so sure. The rest of my TT seems well built, but I could never recommend a KZ product when the decals are going to peel off every 3 years.

I just contacted Keystone about my faded front decal and one peeling on the side of my '07 Cougar; after submitting a couple of pics they requested, they sent me new ones free of charge. Kudos to Keystone!

All the decals on the front of our Keystone Passport are also peeling. It is only 15 months old!!! I called Keystone and they said to take pictures of it and send the pictures to them and they would let me know if anything can be done to fix it. I wouldnt mind just having the front of the camper plain and take off the decals but I dont want to deal with all the sticky residue. Also I wonder if you would be able to see where the decals were????
