I recently read here where someone pulled their spare tire cover off for some reason and discovered their spare had a catastrophic blowout, and the wheel was different than he last remembered.

I store my FW in a fenced secured storage yard. Last week I found that a renter checked out and needed a spare. Guess mine looked good. I will have to replace tire and wheel. $159 lesson. I will have a lock and cable on next one.

Yep, you can't be too careful!
Lock it all!
Some call it peace of mind.
I call it paranoia.
What I do isn't anybody's business. Y'all just don't have a "need to know"!

Why give a thief a freebie? I say lock it. The only thing I don't lock are the LP gas bottles so if there is an emergency, they can be easily yanked off the rig.

I lock up my spare and propane tanks, pull the battery. I keep my TT in a gated storage facility but have had my wheel chocks stolen and found my battery compartment left open after someone went scrounging.

I have my battery chained to the trailer, and I do put a cable between the 2 bottles. I figure if they want them, they will have to work for them and lift 2 30 lbs bottles at the same time. I don't lock the spare, but I think I will get a locking lug for it.
