Not a faliure on the locks part so much, but these guys could have spent an extra buck, so this woud never happen. Steel not pot metal for the connector to the latch.
Lock has been sticking, for a long time, but still worked. I ignored it. ALL MY FAULT HERE.
Lock breaks with the door in the closed position. Trust me NOT GOOD!!.
Various tools of limited destruction, sawsall, drill, hammer pry bar etc and 2hrs time get the lock out.
Bad news, door sustaines battle damage to the jam etc. New lock set, 3hrs helping my cousion ( metal fabricating type guy, and very good at it) Door and lock back together and looks pretty good!!
Moral of the story you do not want a trimark 60-650 lock to break in the door closed position..
The good news, as for someone breaking into your MH, through the Trimark lock, Good luck with that, unless he has a sawsall, drill hammer, prybar an 2 hrs with no one seeing him

Just where do you look to see if you have a 60-650 lock? My key has TRI 224 stamped on it. Don't have access right now to the MH to check the lock for any numbers, but will look later, if I know where to look. Thanks in advance.
On edit, is this the dead bolt or the door lock?

I wonder if ALL models of Trimark are made of pot metal ? Or maybe not all,
but more than one model ?
We have a latch and a dead bolt, but they are two separate pieces. But the latch looks like that without the dead bolt. I might just take it apart and have a look.

Very common failure on a lock/latch assembly used on many RV's. Our local RV repair shop keeps two white and two black ones in stock all the time. They sell a lot of them. One to me a couple of years ago.

That is my understanding as well. R@Ring the lock is easy, But the way this thing jammed and broke with the door closed it was a huge deal to get out.
Tried everything I could think of, but it just would not let go.
Problem is you have the door trim on one side and screen door on the other so you can not get at the strike plate to get it to release. At least I could not. Maybe I was missing a trick don't know.
But in the future, I will not ignore a sticking lock. I know that

The issue is the two pins on the striker plate the latch grabs have a head like a nail on them so the door cannot be slid off of them by releasing the door hinge. I ended up drilling a series of 1/4" holes in a circle about 1 1/2" in diameter from the outside over where the bolt was. I then broke the round piece out so I could access the bolt. I drilled a shallow hole in the bolt and used a punch to retract it. I first pulled the bolt spring out of the back end of the bolt. I first tried to do something from the inside after crawling through a window. No way to do anything from inside. All in all with figuring out what the heck to do it took about two hours. I had lots of "help" from others in the campground (-:

I took the motorhome to the garage to have the coil spring air bags replaced. They called to tell me they could not get the door lock to work. I just returned from the garage and the Trimark 60-650 door lock seems to be broken. The dead bolt will unlock but the other will not. When pulling the handle the door will not move a bit.
Gosh, I'm hoping this is not the same problem winnietrey had when the lock broke on his motorhome. But I think I'm in the same boat. Going to order a Trimark 650 replacement and study where I might drill the 1/4 holes as described above. I don't mind spending 2 or 3 hours to do the job as long as I can just get the door open. Gosh, always a problem lately.

Last year mine got really hard to open. I found there was a little cam, part of the handle that moves a little white cam follower that opens the latch, not the deadbolt. I put a little lithium grease on it and voila, loosened it right up. Its easily accessible from outside. Easily worth the few minutes it takes to do.
