Well, I knew it would cost money to upgrade from a popup that we kept in our two car garage..... but I didn't include parking tickets in our budget!!! Got a new truck Friday morning, and the new trailer - 24 1/2 ft was delievered that afternoon. The TT just barely fit in the driveway, and my husband wasn't going to try that right away, so we pulled it up in front of our house on Saturday after a brief show off trip to our best friends and it spent the night unhitched in front of the house. We had an appt to take it to a new storage place Monday morning. We took the truck (Ford F-150) on a drive Sunday afternoon and when we got home we had a ticket for 1. no license plate (temporary reg was tape to a window) and trailer unattached to tow vehicle. The TT had been on the street less than 24 hours.
Now that I am done complaining, thanks for all the great posts - lots of really helpful stuff!!

I would try to call someone in your city government and explain it to them just as you have explained it to us.
In our city you can leave your RV or boat parked in the street for 72 hours after (or before?) using it. You cannot park it in the driveway but just in the street!
We store our boat and before using have to leave it on the street in front of the house.

I have had tires marked on my mh a few times. That complaining neighbor has left now. We went to the local web site and downloaded the ordinance and keep a copy of it handy. X amount of hours it has to be moved. So I am sure to exercise it when needed but don't keep it here for extended stays. It is 40 feet and gets in my way a bit.

BT Crazy,
If your city is anything like the one I live in they will do nothing but maybe laugh at you. Goverment is just a big joke and they think they can do whatever they want. I guess you have to chalk this one up as a donation to the city crooks. After all, it's their way on no way.

Living in the country is a PITA sometimes when I want to go get something and I am 45 minutes away from everything but Wally World. But it sure is nice to be able to park whatever I want anywhere in the yard anytime I feel like it.
BTW, I suspect you will get less sympathy from the city (WHATEVER city, they are all scraping for cash) than you will get from here, though with equal results. I feel for ya, would tick me off for sure.
PS Don't bother me the next 2 hours, I'll be mowing!

48 hours is the rule in my city too, they normally write warnings unless you're habitual. Someone has to report your violation usually.
You must have a crabby neighbor on the street.
I would make a call as mentioned to explain your situation. Take a picture of the back end, that no license plate is BS.
Officer wasn't very compassionate either.

It could have been worse, you could have crunched a corner or side of your trailer within the first 48 hours....

i have the best of both worlds-county but surrounded by city-1 of just a few houses left on a double dead end street. kitty corner across from me i have an advanced auto and 1 street over is all businesses(major rd) love storeing my TT at home, burning what/when i want, and using water whenever i feel like it-sure pisses off the ppl in the subdivision behind me when they go by. couldn't tell ya how many times the cops have stopped by-love my 5 digit address(denotes county here in IL)
also takes me 2-3 hrs to harvest the yard.
to the OP, i feel for ya, B-I-L has to put up with the same kinda stuff but worse-city and owners assosiation.
