What would cause your grey tank to say it is 2/3 full even after you have dumped the tanks?

Thanks, S.

oh,and as far as the cause, maybe a little bit of onion on the sensor,ha,ha.....seriouly though, those sensors are prone to giving wrong readings.......there are chemicals that advertise to keep them clean, but like I said before, dont believe everything you read

Food and gunk going down the drain sticks to the sensor area and causes miss readings. I don't think ours have read correctly since it was new. Don't worry about it. I can check the black tank with a flash light looking down the drain. Gray water tanks we have learned to conserve if we are going to be on a week or more stay.

If you are still concerned the only way to check if it is fully draining is to fill the tank until it backs up in the sink or bath tub. Then use a five-gallon bucket measure the gray tank volume and see if it matches the manufacturers volume.

I like what ArmySFCret said, when it stops draining its empty, I got one of those clear plastic drain parts that hooks on and then you put your hose on and then I can see it flowing. Like he said when it stops flowing its empty.

Thanks for all the info.. everyone. I will try what you all have suggested. just glad it is not something major. I will give the 5 gal bucket thing a try. just interested to know if it is just us over using or if there is a tank issue.

BTW. mick/linda Calgary is great... just too big now. it is always nice in the summer.. and darn cold in the winter. lol.

Some garbage or the other from the kitchen sink. Same thing happens for the black water toilet, in which case it could be toilet paper.

Sometimes even a little soap will cause it to show 2/3 after dumping. Often after dumping at a campground it may show 1/3 or 2/3 and then when I get to the next campground many hours later it shows empty.
