'05 Ford F350 6.0 TD. Truck probably has the original shocks and now they need to be replaced. I tow a 10k travel trailer and it's also a daily driver. Any suggestions as to what shocks would be a good fit ?.
Thanx

I really like Bilstein shocks myself.
These are for the four wheel drive truck, not sure what you have.

I just replaced the stock shocks on my Chevy 3500 with MOnroe Gas Magnums and am quite pleased at the improvement in ride. For twice the money you can get Bilsteins, but I doubt that you will see twice the improvement over the Monroes. Or you can spend as much on one Koni as four Monroes, but you definitely will not see four times the improvement in ride!
I have had both Bilsteins and Koni's on previous vehicles and I think that the Monroes are by far the best bang for the buck, at least my buck anyway. Your results may vary depending on the seat of your pants and the depth of your wallet.

Installed Bilstiens 7 years ago ,test them on a choppy section of road with a slight bend. The truck 'steps out' a foot at a set speed unloaded.
Thats my test , the factory shocks stepped out twice that, after 7 years the truck still only walks sideways a foot.
I'am satisfied
you need to ask yourself 'how long will I keep this truck'.

I put Bilsteins on my Chevy Class C for less money than Monroes. I guess it is all where you buy your shocks. I've been running Bilsteins and Michelins since the sixties on all my vehicles. You might say I am a little set in my ways. When you find something that works, you usually don't change it. I am sure there must be other brands out there that work just as well but at the momment I can't think of any. Anything is better than old shocks. Happy knuckle busting!!!

Thank you all for the replies. It looks like either Bilsteins's or Monroe's. Will have to price them out locally and on line.

One shock that hasn't been mentioned yet are the Gabriel Max Control shocks. Cheaper than the Bilstein 5100s, limited lifetime warranty, and on the same level/tier has the Bilsteins (I'm told they're actually built by the same mfr but Bilstein has their own proprietary valving, haven't been able to confirm this yet).
I have a set on the back of my Ram and have been happy with them, big improvement in ride and control over the factory shocks. Also been happy with the 5100s on the front, so take your pick. I'd have no problem going with the Gabriel Max Control all the way around if my truck didn't have the 5100s on it when I bought it.

If money is no issue, adjustable Rancho's are the best from what I've read. I couldn't afford them so I went with the Monroe Refelx. I am pleased with the results.

I find the monroes don't last more than a few years so I don't buy them anymore. Now I go with one of the others mentioned depending on the best deal I can get.
