I'd rather be lucky than anything...

Normally "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity"

this time... you were plain lucky!

Happy fathers day!

Glad everything was safe, we almost never get storms like that around here.

I work in the woods a lot and was looking at your "tree" it looks very dangerous to try and cut up, subject to all sorts of forces from many directions, be very careful when you tackle that one.

No kidding on the near miss. That was a nasty little blow and I was bit concerned as I have our Lance off the truck as well.

This has been a "tree party" day... Got warm so I have stopped. There are a lot of preloads in the fallen tree so I am trying to be careful.

I cannot load the camper and go anywhere until I remove it.. my access to the truck is blocked.. so I will be motivated to get it removed.

Here is a shot from upstairs of my house... before I started cutting at 6:30 am this morning

Well....... Another storm rolled through our town last night about 12:30 am. I had left the camper windows open so when I heard the gust of wind I jumped up about half asleep and ran out the front door of my house to close the windows. Not 5 seconds after I had run out the front door a large tree fell directly on the front door porch are where I had just passed!! My wife was standing in the door heard the crack and tree leaves hit her in the face.. but she was not hurt. She thought for a few moments I had been hit by the tree and was history!!

Here is what it looked like this morning.. I guess I used up a little more of my luck .. AGAIN!!

I am becoming very familiar with my chainsaw.

You better go camping. Your house is not safe for you. Maybe you should take down all the trees.
Glad you were not hurt.

Yeah, my wife is looking a tree out back and is worried about it falling too.

Last night, a couple here in Alabama in a mobile home had a tree fall on them while in bed. The wife was apparently killed and the husband was unhurt..

What the heck is up with HSV weather these days? Power went out @ 11:20 and didn't come on again util 9AM. One street over is still inthe dark.
