Not to scare anyone away - just information to be a bit cautious.

Good to read about the warnings. Also, everyone needs to remember

to NOT FEED THE Wildlife. Even the animals on the side of the road are wild, and for a picture, they can be very dangerous! For your safety keep your distance.

Then everyone can enjoy safely!

Here's a video on bear tagging. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJRDpTUIrJI

Humourous, yes, it's Rick Mercer. But still there's a lot of fact in it.

I suppose the idiot parents in the next site at Tunnel Mountain last week figured they had a way to deal with the wildlife. They gave their 9 or 10-year-old kid a bow and arrow. He was chasing ground squirrels with it--luckily he didn't hit any before someone called the ranger. I could not believe that.

AHHHHH Banff

That is the Norm!

If you are going to camp in that area expect it

one thing i don't get is....

I use to go and watch Grizz #64 a few years ago.
Then she was hit by a CN train and hers cubs were sent to the Calgary zoo. just like bear #56
Now back in the day when they started taging and numbering the bears I was told that the number will not be reused if the bear dies....did that change? or are they mistaken on the #

Another sad story

Bear #56

Have fun, be smart and stay safe
