We have a 2007, 40 ft Holiday Rambler, Ambassador. On the way home from Kansas City yesterday, I noticed that the upper left hand corner, or the drivers side of the windshield was popping out. I slowed my speed down to about 55 mph as the wind was howling as usual, and just making it worse. I still had quite a distance to travel to northern Oklahoma to get home. After examining it, I saw that it had separated from the rubber gasket (but just in the upper corner). We made it home, but now must find the best way to have it fixed. We have local glass repair shops, but this may require a bit more expertise. Any advise on this would be appreciated.

Call your insurance company. Good chance they will fix it where it sits.

Since Monaco uses the three point stance with their levelers, this is a common issue if not deployed correctly. Any good glass shop can fix it. Check with your insurance company to see if it can be fixed for free. Either way, a quick call to Duncan Glass with get you back on the road in no time. Usually they can come to you to fix.......good luck....Dennis

I'm dealing with the same issue right now but in my case both the right and left corners had popped out. I had a glass company come to the campground and they got the corners back in. They told me it would happen again unless the windshields were removed and reset. I have an appointment to have it done at their location on Wed. I would have preferred to have it done on site but they said it was best to come in.

Just about any glass shop should be able to handle it. When my neighbors popped out he stopped at a local glass shop, said it took less then 10 min to fix and they didn't even charge him. As always YMMV

Chances are that once it happens it will likely happen again if not properly repaired. Some coaches have structural problems that can cause this or it could be a fault in the windshield installation. Three point levelers are not supposed to cause this problem because you can't twist the coach body, while four point ones will. It is also much more common with the single piece windshields.
I would be very careful with leveling in the future and it gets more likely if you lift the front wheels to where there is no wight left on the suspension.
Good luck as this may be minor, but it could also be quite serious and repeat quite frequently.

Guardian Glass sent their mobile folks to do a temporary repair on my right and left side windshield when the corners popped out last week. You could see where the rubber gasket had moved because there was a white space between the gasket and the painted area. It is my understanding that the gasket is glued to the front cap windshield opening and then the windshield floats in the gasket if that makes any sense. It appears the glued area has come loose. Tomorrow I have an appointment to get both sides reset. I assume they will re-glue the gasket. I’ve always had a small leak during heavy rains that was easy to wipe up on the dash. I hope resetting the windshields solves that problem as well. The mobile crew also told me that a 3 point leveling system is less likely to cause this problem than a 4 point system.

I'm one who has been known to do unconventional fixes. The best professional strength liquid nails will hold that windshield in.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

Going on Seven Weeks without a coach! We are at the fourth consecutive repair shop this occurrence. This repair is getting real interesting.
The original windshield was replaced just prior to purchase. Our windshield (98 Diplomat 36b) has popped out for the fifth time. Repair men have been asking very poignant questions:
Does it come lose while you are driving or when you are parked? Is a biggie. Another is
Did they take out both halves at once?
Has it been in an accident?
Have you had any work done on the frame?
HERE is a story about the second (or third) time the windshield popped loose.
