I like Stanley area here in Idaho, wife likes Northern part better near the Locsha River and Lolo National Forest. Anywhere in the mountains near a trout stream is fine for me..
Montana.
As far back in the boonies as I can get, at an "end-of-the-road" USFS campground.
I like the convenience of having the vault toilets and water available.
I won't say exactly where, because the tourists usually don't go there (many of them like it closer to town, where they have wifi and cell service), and we like it that way!

to each his own, but if tourists won't go where you're going what's the harm of saying where?
Of course there are plenty of USFS campgrounds and a look on the web isn't that hard.

My most frequent camping spot is beside a creek on my farm in Alabama. The fifth wheel stays set up there most of the time. My favorite spot would be anywhere in Yellowstone.
Like "autiger74", I also like my spot beside a creek on my farm in Alabama. Will leave the TT there alll winter. I also like the Florida SP where my son is a resident ranger, 'cuz I get to see him every day. My other favorites are scattered all over North America and I hope to keep adding to the list. lizzie
we dont go to far since we get only onbe week off at a time but retirement is just around the corner so as i read all your favs i will be visting them soon thank you
Need more specific criteria, have several favorites. Favorite ever? Colter Bay, Tetons for the area, not necessarily the campground, although it was pretty OK. Around PA, we do only State Parks, so in order of preference so far, Sinnemahoning, Poe Valley, Cowans Gap, Pinchot, too many to list. We love it no matter where we are.

We also live in Florida, just south of Tampa, and spend our camping time almost exclusively in State Parks. We went to Rainbow Springs for our very first camping trip. Now, we generally stick a bit closer to home for our trips simply due to time constraints.
Our all-time favorite is probably Jellystone Campground Resort in Cosby, TN just outside of Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. We went there this past March. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we had a nice, running stream 7 feet outside the back of our camper. Awesome!
