During the purchase of the trailer I asked the sales representative if I had a big enough truck to pull the trailer and the sales rep said that I did and stated that since I was within a 1000 pounds of the weight limit that I could carry gear in my pickup bed. I questioned `him about that since I would think that it would factor into the Gross combined weight and he said it did not.

I cant believe anyone would ask an RV salesman a question like this. What did you expect the salesman to say? He wants to sell you the RV and doesnt care if your TV is adequate or not. What do the specs for your truck tell you? It is legally your responsibility to make sure you have an adequate TV, not the salesmans. I have always had a good experience with camping world. Maybe you should not go there again.

Well put travelon. My goal was only to notify others of my experience and not to see opinions on the matter.

See ya out there

If the job is done right the first time it will NOT cost more in the long run.

As Billy Joel once noted in a very catchy tune:

Get it right the first time that's the main thing...
Get right the second time that's not the same thing!

The bottom line is it should have been right from the mfg. and what wasn’t
right should be discovered by the selling dealer… hopefully things missed are caught during the PDI and dealt with…

“I find it interesting how some members of the forum believe that I somehow carry blame for the subpar work performed by CW.!”

I hope you don’t think I am in any way blaming you for work done by the mfg or dealer…
I neither condone or defend poor workmanship…Based wholly on you account of what happen you have every right to be upset and I understand that… still I am not familiar with many of these disputes where both sides are in total agreement with the problem, the solutions, or the results…

So while I sincerely hope you get the resolution you deserve I have to be aware I might not know the whole story, ever…

Jay

I doubt we could be any more in agreement on how things should be and I am not being adversarial on your position at all…

I would bet your points are well taken by CW’s CEO to…
In reality though if that condition don’t exist in a company the size of CW, it will take much time to make and see effective change, but it seems the CEO has taken a personal interest in seeing those changes happen…

All well and good… you as I have a good local dealer that we can depend on, but I can assure you they to have made mistakes maybe big ones at times…

The difference is for every 1 unit our dealer services CW might service 1000 (just a number pulled out of the air)… another difference few dealers sponsor discussion boards like this one or allow for the negative comment to be posted or carried on…

"All of those folks" referred to just might not be that many in the grand scheme of things…

I have seen the CW rants being made here, I have seen offers of help but not once did I see CW come on and post their position in opposition even if they one…

One thing I can say is, even though I like and use my local dealer when I can, I have used CW stores and services on a number of occasions and it has always been a positive experience for me… I have no reason to not expect the same thing the next time…

Oh yeah, I also remember at least an hour wait for propane at the CW in Robertsdale Alabama. Here is the scenario: No one in the store, 4 people sitting behind the service desk looking at their computers and typing, No one even acknowledging my presence and me waiting for someone to come up for air. Will never do that again.

We must have been there on the same day......I walked in, no one around, picked up a new awning strap from rack, walked up to check out, 4 people at service desk chatting not 15' away....all looked at me and went back to chatting.

Looked around......waved at the group.....one waved back

Walked out......stopped at small local RV service place. Owner greeted me, showed me to item, rang up the sell and THANKED ME. What a difference !

Thread title corrected:

"There's an old saying in Omaha - - I know its in Texas, probably in Omaha - that says . . . fool me once, shame on - - - shame on YOU.
Fool me - you can't get fooled again!"

Don't get fooled again..

I am thinking that the CEO should be on the show "Undercover " and see firsthand what really goes on in his dealerships. Over and out.

Had an incident at CW in VA where they charged me 1.5 hours lavbor for a job that I watched completed in 20 minutes. Haven't been in a CW since and have taken every opportunity to disparage them for the sXXm bags they are.

That will happen in any car dealership. The repair manual states X number of hours for a job. And you get charged for X number of hours, whether it took that many or not.
