We own a 2004 Weekend Warrior 5th Wheel. We bought it used, & in the past 2 yrs the corner moulding is beginning to separate from the roof. This is right at the top of the front of the 5vr--it's the moulding that runs up along the edges from the bottom to the top, & end just after rounding the top curved area of the front of the rig. I can tell by the amount of glue/caulking on either edge that this has been repaired before. In fact, I think the rig was damaged prior to our purchasing it, because behind both bedroom windows, the paint is discolored from the rest of the side--it's fiberglass siding. It looks as though the windows may have popped out & been replaced, possibly from a front impact? My question is, how do I repair this? My guess would be to peel off all the existing caulking, screw the moulding strips down, & then caulk it all to prevent leaks. If this is correct, what size/type of screws would I use? What would it screw into?
Any advice would help! Thanks!
Dave.
